Spiral Wound Gaskets are manufacture by a special process by spiral winding of metal strips with a non-metallic filler material. The combination of metal and filler material compresses to its predetermined thickness under bolting pressure and thereby preventing leakage within the limit of its specified temperature and pressure range.

Technical Features:

Some of the different grades of metallic strips are SS304, SS306, Nickel etc.

Some of the different filler materials include Graphite, PTFE, Non-Asbestos fiber, CAF etc.

Temperature resistance capability depends upon grade of metal & filler material used.

Applications: It is widely used in Flange Joints, Manhole & Handhole Covers, Tube covers, Boilers, Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, Pumps, Valves etc.
